The main advantage of the Atlantis Copper Ring is also its main weak point: the copper. On the one hand, as advantages, its beautiful electric reddish color and its aphrodisiac and magical properties. On the other hand, as a weak point, its oxidation.

The word "copper" comes from the Latin "cuprum", which comes from "aes cyprium", which means "from Cyprus". The reason is simple: in ancient times, the island of Cyprus had important copper mines that supplied much of the Greco-Roman world.

Copper geeks version. The main advantage of the Atlantis Ring in Copper is also its main weak point: that it is made of copper. On the one hand, as advantages, its beautiful electric reddish color, its low cost and its properties as an aphrodisiac, exotic and magical talisman. On the other hand, as a weak point, its oxidation: the greenish tint that it can create on the skin and the patina that oxidizes the metal itself

The current chemical symbol is «Cu», but centuries ago, alchemists represented it with the symbol ♀, which also represented the planet Venus, the Greek goddess Aphrodite and the female sex.

The reason for this relationship between the symbol ♀ and Venus may be that the goddess Astarte, equivalent to Venus-Aphrodite for the Phoenicians, was highly revered in Cyprus. The symbol ♀ also bears a great resemblance to the Egyptian hieroglyph Ankh, which represented life and sexual union.

On the one hand, as advantages of copper:

• The favorite metal of the goddess Venus, symbol of love and eroticism. Copper is related to the planet Venus and to the goddess of love who gave it its name: Venus for the Romans, Aphrodite for the Greeks. Many ancient cultures have turned it into the reference metal for love, the aphrodisiac and eroticism. Its reddish and electric color awakes from ancient times a tingling of those that loses you ;-)
• The magic metal of alchemists, sorcerers and druids. Copper has been used since antiquity, that is why we speak of "The Copper Age". Its use in jewelry, metalwork and boilermaking is ancient, both for its physical properties and for its easy obtaining in natural state mining. In addition to its reddish color and metallic luster, it has the peculiarity that, after silver, it is a great conductor of electricity or heat. In addition, there is its oxidation, which produces a greenish tint on the skin or a greenish patina on the copper itself. Those three qualities (the metallic reddish color, the electrical and thermal conductivity and the greenish oxidation) have related it from ancient times with the occult, magic and esotericism. Moroccan or Indian jewelry still uses copper profusely.
• The poor cousin of precious metals. Copper is not a precious metal, like silver or gold. However, seeing her sparkle, it is difficult not to consider it as a beauty. Mixing that appeal with its physical properties and the fact that it is easy to obtain in nature and therefore its lower cost compared to precious metals, it is not surprising that many consider it as the poor cousin of precious metals: it is not "precious", but leftover handsomeness, with an exotic touch and at cost price :)

On the other hand, as weak points:

• Copper easily oxidizes. Copper is a material that oxidizes on contact with skin, sweat, or cosmetics. This implies that it can generate a greenish discoloration of the skin with which it is in contact and that the ring can darken due to the effect of the same oxidation. It does not always happen (it depends on the reaction of the skin and the sweating of each person, or the use of certain cosmetics) but it is a characteristic to take into account. A jewel like this one, entirely made of copper, necessarily implies greater care, both for your skin and your new treasure: my recommendation is to rub it with a silver chamois leather every two or three days.
• Copper is less malleable and it takes longer to make your Atlantis Ring. Copper is a much less modelable metal than silver or gold. In order to make an Atlantis Ring in Copper, I need to first make a copper ring by casting (lost wax: make a wax ring of your Tatum size and send it to the foundry to return the ring converted to copper). From there the adventure begins. The golden ratio and the sacred geometry mark the different sections for me: the Luxor-shaped Wave and the pyramids occupy 2 fifths of the total design, and I mark the cardinal points of north and south with separate holes, complemented by two more holes at 30 degrees from the south. Outside, I work with my files. I model the precious metal to create each of the shapes: the gayons of the Luxor Shape Wave, the pyramids, the isosceles triangles ... and inside I engrave the Lemniscate: the 10 consecutive signs of infinity. It looks easy: all you need to do is put the finishing touch on the polisher to get all the shine out of electrolytic copper! This long process implies that although copper is cheaper than silver, the sale price is the same because the work is much longer, and the manufacturing time is also: between 15 and 20 days.

The main difference of my Atlantis Rings with respect to the serial productions that you can find on other websites is the quality and the artisanal manufacturing. Atlantis Rings FAQ

How long does it take to make it and send it to me?

I make my Atlantis Rings one by one in my workshop and I have no stock. I need between 7 and 10 days to make your ring and between 1 and 3 days of shipping (Spain). For international shipments it could be a little more.

Are you in a hurry and need it before? Write me and I organize to elaborate it and send it to you as soon as possible.

How can I know the size of my finger?

In my blog I tell you all the tricks to know the size of your ring. Please make sure of your size. If you have a sample ring that fits you, the best solution is to measure it with a caliper. If you don't have a sample ring, my recommendation is that you visit two or three jewelry stores in person to find out the size of the finger where you want to wear it.

What if I make a mistake in size and ask you to change my size?

The Atlantis Ring cannot be made smaller or larger because it is made following the golden ratio and would be disproportionate. The only option in these cases is that you contact me to return it to me and that I send you a new ring. You can do it within 14 calendar days from when you receive your ring, but you will have to bear the shipping costs to MeriTomasa and return shipping to your address (Spain: €15 return + €10 forwarding; international: €30 return + €20 forwarding), plus 10% of the price of the new ring, with a minimum of €39, and the difference between the price of both sizes (if applicable). Also note that you will have to wait another 10 days to receive your new ring. That is why I highly recommend that you visit one or more jewelry stores to correctly measure your Tatum measurement.

If I don't like it, can I make a return?

No. I work out of stock and I elaborate each one of my Atlantis Rings on request, customizing the size and materials tailored to each order you make, so that I cannot offer the return option (unless there is a manufacturing error of the jewel by MeriTomasa).

On what finger do I have to put the Atlantis Ring?

My advice is: the Atlantis Ring is a talisman that helps you find balance first with yourself and then with the environment. Choose the finger where it is most comfortable to wear it. Choose the finger where you want to wear it the most and make it a help to grow as a person. I tell you in detail in this post.

Each ring is handcrafted, with which none of my rings is perfect in each and every one of its proportions: all have a "defect" of tenths of a millimeter here or there, the result of human imperfections and the warmth of the artisan's hand, just as surely the Atlantis Rings made by the goldsmiths of antiquity had to be imperfect.

Why don't I seal my Atlantis Rings?

All the jewels that leave the MeriTomasa's Treasures Factory are sealed with my logo. It is my way of guaranteeing with the most precious thing I have, my brand, which is my name, that the treasures you buy at MeriTomasa are made with the precious metals that each piece indicates (sterling silver, 18K gold...) and that they are designed and modeled in my craft workshop. This rule has only one exception: my Atlantis Rings are the only MeriTomasa's Treasures Factory jewels that I do not sign with my seal. But why?

• For technical reasons: the Atlantis Ring is an artifact calculated to the millimeter, where the different figures and proportions, from the Luxor-shaped Wave to the inner Lemniscate, are articulated forming a complex algorithm of sacred geometry and golden ratio. I do not want to alter those laws with my punch, nor is it placing it in the most discreet corner of the inside of the ring, and that is why I do not sign my pieces.
• For artisan humility, and because I want to offer you my gift and offer it to the universe. It sounds a little hippie, but I feel it like that. Creating pieces of jewelry is my gift as an artisan, and that gift that has been given to me and allows me to live as a jeweler, I want to return to the world with humility and love for my craft. I sign all my treasures, with the exception of my Atlantis Rings, and that exception is my way of thanking and being humble, and of returning to the universe how much it has been given to me as a craftswoman of precious metals and magic strawberries and files.
